say "Hello" to ArtistBob

Hello ZBrush world;

I’m completely new to your realm and techniques (Virgin) - plus I type 5 to 10 wpm. I’m an artist / sculptor (principally Metal) of 30 plus years, had back surgery, looking for arm chair “trump” card if my body gives out. ZBrush has its possibilities. Although I’m In investigative mode now, ZBrush intro, descriptions, tutorials and walk-throughs etc. are very thorough and enticing. Any “trial”, any version progs out there? . . . other techno-questions to follow!

Welcome to the community! We expect to be releasing a demo any day now. As for documentation, be sure to check out www.zbrush.info. Some other really cool stuff is about to come out as well, but I can’t talk about that quite yet. :wink: Just keep an eye on ZBC and you’ll be among the first to know as new developments occur!

Welcome Bob, I’m sure you’ll find ZB to your liking, i used to sculpt in metal too once upon a time, small world… :smiley:

Enjoy your stay & any questions just ask away… :wink:

Aurick and Buckie;

Thanks for the info, You’re great ! Hope I didn’t give Matthew@pixologic the wrong impression with my questions. Also, He’s right, you’re more responsive and quicker than others sites. Sorry about the mixup in the placement of my “intro” thread, you guys have a lot going on visually on all your sites and it’s easy to miss something. I definitely like the darker background colors that you use everywhere instead of the glaring white.(More eye strain) And from the looks of things on your video tutorials is that way in the program itself. I didn’t realize how much activity you guys have, those are staggering numbers. You guys (“staff”?) That field the questions are really on the ball and knowledgeable (hard to stump with questions) from watching your threads / posts.

Gotta run, thanks for everything, keep up the good work !

hello, artistbob
a few elder autodidacts here, i see

Hi watteville;

An artist from across the pond, somewhere in Spain, possibly? . . . somewhere on the coast, perhaps? Nice place, Spain, never been there, would like to go. I love the food and the women are like the weather, hot!

Actually, my schooling and tutelage (minus my 5 to10 wpm typing skills) were at Corcoran School of Art in merry old Washington, DC. . . . Many moons ago.

Some program, this ZBrush, huh? - I’m getting a head start with the great tutorials and videos abound - I’m awaiting (and searching) for the trial version (the real deal) but not the learning curve.

Enough typing for now, thanks for the post!

Artist Bob ZBrush is so much fun I bet you’ll find the learning curve a treat. I suggest you start with some baby step projects.

Roger that ! - Thanks for post.

Hello Artistbob, I’m new to the community aswell and figured I would just drop in to say hello. Just started up my Zbrush career yesterday and I’m loving it so far. Looks like I may have a hard time fighting off the zbug addiction and staying focused on my thesis project. Anyhow, When I start up in a new community like this and I see new joins like myself I try to stay in contact with as many people in our virgin pipeline as possible. I figure when I become a little more efficient with the program and I see something exciting (that is if it isn’t already here in ZbrushCentral) I will try to relay the info to as many people as possible.
I have heard alot of talk with the students in my college that it doesn’t get any better than ZBC but everyonce in awhile I hear or see some cool stuff that may not be posted here.

Hello 3DCrankin;

you’re right, ZBrush is addictive sounding, it looks like it’s simple effort - great reward. Fits my situation perfectly - body’s weak, mind’s strong. Trial version is now out, can’t wait to delve into the program firsthand. Hopefully I’ll have time to devote to it. It will be interesting to see if Some technical concepts that I would like to try ( off the beaten path of the intended program use), will pan out. It’s like creating three-dimensional sculptures without the strenuous physical effort that I’m used to in my profession.

Good luck, stay in touch, thanks for the post !
