zbrush is just too much fun, heres the start of a satyr, it has a body but thats nowhere near ready to show
i tried to make it look emotionless.
not sure if i should bring its hairline closer to the forehead or change the shape of the head. maybe change the way its horns are connected? any thoughts or sugestions very welcome
it looks like it’s coming along well. it may be too late now, but i’d say to bring the horns down a bit…right now, they are almost on top of the head, but instead they should be on the forehead itself, not the dead-middle, but ‘towards’ the top of the head. If that can be done, then you can push the hairline further on the top and sides.
again, it looks like it’s coming along, keep at it.
i think you got it
i managed to cut his horns off and regrow them a bit lower. they came out a bit wonky but that just helps them to look more natural. i tried adding texture but that just looked completly wrong, i think i need to read a few tutorials on textures before trying that again
lookin’ good mate.
so what’s your next move with the model?
think i’ll leave the head alone for a bit and focus on the body for a while. heres what i got so far, maybe i should have given him fingers but i think fists will still work
cool idea.
i would like to see the hairline brought closer to the horns.
there is tons of pcitures of classical satyr sculptures on the web. could be good reference. particularly for the body as you move forward. looking good so far.
r
after a quick google i couldnt find that many pictures for reference, but i did notice that the horns do tend to blend into the hairline. i’ll test it out later and see if it works. but im going to clean the body up a bit more before playing with the head again. i think i’ll shape his hands first because they just distract me as they are
