Runaway Boy and Clown

Hello guys, The original painting is from one of my favorite illustration artist Norman Rockwell’s work . This work by Norman Rockwell appeared on the cover of the June 1, 1922 issue of LIFE magazine, which was also his 25th cover appearance in LIFE .
The meeting of two unrelated characters, an aging clown and a runaway child, gives the piece a storytelling and graphic quality. The clown is comforting the runaway child in a circus that has fallen on hard times. The clown’s duty is to bring laughter to others, but who cares if he is happy under this makeup.
