Rubber band effect

Hi,

In transform mode I am having some real problems positioning things…

some times while holding ALT and sizing or placeing object, it all the sudden comes on top of all layers, and in a HUGE size…

Is this a bug or a feature?

If it is a feature, what is it called, and is it possible to disable it either by Zscript or preference adjustment?

Here are my system specs:

Pentium 4 class intel processor (NO-HT)
2 GB RAM DDR 133Mhz
Window$ XP SP1 / DUAL BOOT Debian linux “SID”/FreeBSD (Broken)
ATI Radeon 9800 + 128MB
Zbrush 2
IBM optical mouse
Wacom Intuos 2
Logitec track-man
Lame offbrand Joysick
ATA-30GB harddisk MASTER
ATA-160GB harddisk SLAVE
altec lansing speakers
Intel integrated sound (SOUNDMAX)
Cheep ass flat pannel display. (WAL-MART special)
Westtell DSL modem
Intel networking card.
and the mousepad that came with my DELL…

Thank you in advanced. :+1:

It sounds like you’re accidentally doing an Alt+click instead of an Alt+drag. This activates the feature where ZBrush automatically centers the current object on the canvas and resizes it to fit.

It could be that you’re accidentally releasing and then pressing the Alt key again. Or it may be that your keyboard is wearing out. Or possibly that you’re holding down Alt for so long that it is “timing out” and registering with Windows as a new key press.

Cool Deal! I will play with it some more, and see whats up

Thanks allot for your help Aurick  :+1:

now that I know it is not a bug, I can look it up in manual and work with My technique…

Thanks for the heads up, I will play with that new feature… sounds like it comes in handy

It’s EXTREMELY useful for any time you might accidentally lose a model off the viewable canvas. It’s also just plain nice to be able to center your object on the screen and resize it to fit.

By the way, clicking on the Move or Scale buttons on the right shelf will do the same as Alt+clicking on the canvas.
