Roman Centurion

Hey guys, I’ve been out of touch for a while now but I found some free time to do a model for myself, so I made this roman guy here. I tried to recreate the likeness of Lucius Vorenus from HBO’s Rome as best I could, I might not have been that successful this time around, but I learned a lot and I hope my next character will be better:)
Hope everyone likes what I came up with. Thank you.

Your centurion is awesome! Great work. Which game did you make it for?

Thanks  I’m really glad you like it! I just did this for fun on my free time not really for any game, would be cool to see him run around in some game somehwere though

This is possible;) but, I suppose, your character is about 20-30 mln poly. So, it needs to be retopoliged for games

That’s a really great Centurion! Show us more ZBrush Screenshots! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey guys,

Im happy to hear you like this guy, here are some more renders for you guys. I have a link here to an interactive turntable: http://www.shoogleit.com/2351-0_VorenusHigh please come check it out.

Some extra Zbrush images:

I also felt I might share how I made the chainmail. For this guy I used micromesh, that awesome awesome new tool  It took me a bit of trial and error to figure it out but I finally got it. I started with a topologized mesh which I used as a base and went through and made sure all of the polys were facing in the same general direction (I used an arrow mesh for reference). This is a method I learned from a Zclassroom tutorial from Joseph Drust for making a ghillie hood. This part was a long and tedious process and I wondered if there was a more automated way of making sure the polys are faced in the righ direction. Anyways I then subdivided it and applied a link mesh I made in maya and made chainmail  Micromesh is the dopest!!!

@lekseus This guys is actually topologized for games he is 10,448 tris and the platform is 3,777. SO if I rigged and animated maybe I could get him into a game, which would be pretty sweet.

Here’s some screens of the topologized mesh and textures:

Great character, great work !

Thanks gkhnaltay! I’m Really glad you like it

AntonKoz, there is good tutorial “Sculpting Hard Surfaces, Armor and Repetitive Patterns” by Ryan Kingslien. Probably, its good for me (just started to learn ZBrush). If you’ll not find it - PM me;)
Most game engines have implemented animation sets, so don’t worry about that.
