Okay, here’s the prop, I only have the Zdemo. That means that I can’t create AND export my home made tools for later use. And I have this incredible idea for a robotic/cybotic Spider for my site that I want to create in Z. But Since I’ll have to start all over just to but the Spider in a new possion, I can’t make it (i’ll be a waste of time w/o the ability to save the tools).
Here is the question:
If I post (or e-mail) a sktche(s) of the image I want, Would one of you guys create, export, and post the tools (spider parts) for (and maybe others) to use? I’ll give the artist credit on my site. I just need the spider to be adjustable, w/o starting all over.
Those of you with only the Zdemo, should understand my proplem.

Oops! Wrong Image
I ment to post this image

Hey Richard, I have to ask this…With all the things you seem to have going down, why don’t you get it together to buy the full version? It seems with web stuff, animation stuff, and other commercial stuff, it would be a good investment, rather than an expense…
No offense intended here man, but asking somebody to put time into making models for you, seems a little odd to me…
stonecutter is right I think…and you can always write it off of your taxes…I use the demo version as well…the thing you have to do is sit down and plan out the image and build it on paper and then in one session of zbrush model it…its long, its tedious, its fun, its zbrush…but you hear how long some of these artists take on building these models…and its like a days work…I know alot of my stuff and at my low knowledge level of the program it takes several good hours of playing around…maybe you can Hire one of the Z artists to build it for ya…just a thought…coz there are alot of starving artists out here
Kind Regards and good luck,
Ron Harris

I compleatly undestand StoneCutter,
I would buy the full program, but I can niether find it in any of the stores here in NC and I Don’t like ordering over the internet.
Well, Richard, since they don’t sell Z in stores, you have to buy it online!
It’s up to you, old buddy, but you’re not going to get people to work for you for nothing…
Oh No! I’ll pay, Don’t worry about that. And get this…I’ll even pay with cash (okay, a money order or check). I’ll have to see the work 1st ofcourse.
Richard: You’ll be glad to know that when you purchase ZBrush from www.zbrush.com you’ll be given a choice to pay by credit card, by check, by money order or by wire transfer.
Zuzu
We’ll need to communicate via email to solidify the “mechanics” of your spider.
I could get the work done in about 4 hours (with texture mapping 5) I’ll give you a secure URL setting within the Visionized.com website for review. I do not retain copyrights on models. You buy it,you buy the copyright. So credit on your site isn’t necessary.
I charge $70 an hour, 25% upfront. Unlimited revision requests. File formats to your specifications. All trans maps are submitted at high rez 300 with optional thumbs for display pursposes within graphics management applications.
I can also offer you the service of creating a fully animatable 2D image library in case you’d like to make cartoons of your spider within flash/swish/Moho.
I do not charge kill fees.
Let me know, and I’ll email you a contract.
ummm…Kathy, what’s a kill fee?
Tony
A Kill Fee is an agreed upon amount that will be paid to the artist if the project is “killed” or cancelled anytime BEFORE delivery of final product. (This assures the artist will make money even if the client changes their minds about a project)
CYOA.
I don’t charge a kill on models. I can always sell them later.
I do charge a kill on larger long term project within unstable environments like advertising, marketing campaigns, or projects containing alot of “project leaders”.
Kathy,
Thank you for the offer. I’ll have to think about it, since It might be cheaper to just purchase the program. The idea I have will have to take about 7-8 hours even for a pro like you. When I want something well detailed, I mean it (as realistic as possible).
Like I said, I’ll have to get back to about it.
Sounds like richard has to hide it from his wife is all. he had no problem downloading the Free demo,so to say i dont like ordering from the web. Get Real tell the wife “ALICE I’M GETTING THIS SOFTWARE THATS THE WAY ITS GOING TO BE SEE”/ OR BANG!! ZOOM!!RIGHT TO THE MOON…
LOL
Funny. Unfortantly I’m a 23 year single guy. So I have no one to answer to. Even if I did have a wife, I would still consult her (since it would be OUR money I’ll be spending).
Fortaintly, I have finished the Spider (well, almost). Want to share your thoughts and ideas on it? Then go over to the other Forum and look for “Robotic Spider Update#1.”
Kathy, LOL.
Richard, no one seems to have pointed out to you that even though ZBrush talks about a limited half price offer that seems to be permanent, it will double in price eventually. Probably after the 1.5 update but maybe before.
I suspect Richard suffers from the same malady that many of the “younger generation” do. He has limited finances. Been there. Done that. I know things were really tight when I was that age. Hell, when I was 23 I was working at McDonalds as an Assistant Manager for $5.50 an hour!! I feel your pain bud! Hang in there…things WILL get better. In case I’ve have been totally off target here just ignore my ramblings and proceed to the next comment…
