Rigging Posing, Changes Workflow Advice

Hi,
After 1 making a low-poly base mesh and 2 a zsphere rig, what is the best workflow for accomplishing this:

  1. Make Multiple poses
  2. Get feedback
  3. More poses, add rig details like fingers perhaps (or should the anticipated detail be done up front)
  4. Refine base mesh sculpt (on the a pose with symmetry)
  5. Pose with one or more of the previous rig poses
  6. Repeat with more pose adjustments, sculpt refinements

I’ve rarely used layers, but assume that the rigs (and the meshes?) might need them.
Any tips on organizing – folders, copies of rigs and meshes, etc, would be appreciated. Subdiv level insights?
And is there a point of no return where you cannot reuse a previous rig?

I’ve watched many videos, but haven’t seen much iteration. I suspect that layers are needed, and maybe morph targets, but not sure exactly how to implement.

I’m making a bunch of poses and would really appreciate any advice or links.
