'Riddick' realtime model (WIP)

Hi guys!
So I’m working on this guy…Riddick. I’m sure you know him. :slight_smile: I’m working on the textures now and he will get his ‘backpack thing with trousers + knifes’ too.
Has an unfinished 2K diffuse, normal and specular. Comments are welcome.
This is what I’ve got so far:

You’ve made an excellent model.
It looks just like Riddick.
My only critique is that I find he should have more muscular definition to his arms.

It’s a great likeness. Eyeballs are a little odd, but it’s probably the material.

The eyeballs (and it’s texture) are ‘highres’ placeholders. Maybe I’ll update them today. :slight_smile:

Great likeness! I would emphasize his muscles a bit more, they have more volume, and more dynamic outlines, I think.

Thanks! I’m happy I could capture the likeness…you know we talked about photo ref issues: on every single shot the guy looks a bit different (fov, lighting, makeup…etc).
I had my doubts in the first few days but it seems he looks all right now.

About the muscles: I’ll see what I can do…

Love the final image, it looks great, just think the polycount could be optimised somemore. i think the face likeness is brilliant. did you use a 3 point light settup? Brilliant work :slight_smile: top row

Yes, it has a pretty basic 3 point light setup.

I am a big fan of Riddick. I also was a big fan of the game. It looks good, I really like his knives. I think you should put more definition into his arms, if you look at Vin diesel he is a big guy, lots of definition. I would pull up some pictures of him and use those, witch I am sure and hope you did. In your wire frame, I think you should try and look at the poly flow in his legs. The inner thigh and the bottom portion of the legs seem to be very messy. I would go back and clean that up. But I over all think that it is looking food, the normals projected really well. Looking good. Keep it up.

Nice, very nice, but I maintain that the muscles need to be more defined, and that’s true for the lower leg. I miss a certain rhythm of the body’s cureves, you know what I mean. Anyway, nice!

I agree with the others, although you achieved a great likeness, I recommend re-watching the Chronicles of Riddick movie (with the necromongers), there’s a scene after the mercs captured Riddick off Helion Prime, on their flight to Crematoria. Riddick is chained to the back of the spacecraft, with his arms stretched to both sides, which perfectly shows the volume of his muscles…
