Hi,
I’m using ZBrush in a research project where I import 3D body scans of participants into ZBrush to do mapping of sites of pain, injury, etc on the surface of these images. After doing about 60 or so I’ve just discovered that ZBrush has been importing these images as mirrors-- so for example if it looks from the image as if someone’s left shoulder is higher, it’s actually the right shoulder. I figured out that this was because I had set iSwitchYZ under importexport preferences, and that adding iFlipX fixes the problem so now I am importing the images the right way around.
So far so good… but now I’m left with 60 or so people who’ve marked that one side or the other of their body hurts, and it doesn’t match up with the anatomy underneath! I need to know if there’s a way to mirror reverse the 3D object (so they’re the right way around) while keeping the texture the same. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I’d be very grateful for any help on this as it otherwise means I need to go back to all 60 of those people and get them to do the mapping again, which will be incredibly time consuming.
For info, my workflow is something like:
-transform 3D body scan from .wrl to .obj using 3DWin5
-import .obj file to ZBrush
-Assign texture
-drop to canvas, bring up ZSwatch and get participant to mark sites of pain, injury, etc, picking up the body scan to adjust direction as needed
-save .ztl, draw the tool on the canvas and rotate so there are four bodies, showing front/back/side/side markings
-export document to Photoshop and print so participant can take a copy home
All I really need for data analysis is the photoshop image to be correct, so if it’s not possible to reverse in ZBrush would there be a way of doing it through Photoshop?
Again, I really appreciate any help anyone can provide!
