When I am retopologizing using a zsphere how do I turn the transparency off so that I dont see the lines on the back of my model . When Im using the Edit Topology function in the Topology menu… Its hard to see what Im doing when the retopology lines on the back of my model are visible.
Turn off the “Transp” button. It’s on the right shelf or in the Transform palette.
This is the case if you are using the appended ZSphere method to retopologize.
As far as I know, you can’t. If there’s a way to do that I’m unaware of it. If your mesh is symmetrical, you can topologize 1 side of the mesh and then perform a mirror and weld (tool > Geometry> Modify Topology > Mirror and Weld) on the resulting skin if you don’t want the other side to get in the way while working.
However, I recommend developing skill with the newer Topology Brush feature instead. It has replaced ZSphere retopology for the most part, and is a bit easier to make sense of visually. You can hide sections of your mesh if they’re in the way using the standard Mesh Visibility controls, and the topology brush makes it easier to work in smaller sections at a time, gradually topologizing an entire model piece by piece, especially when used in conjunction with ZModeler to tweak the topology.
