retaining (transparent) texture info on nanomesh to mesh?

I made a feather nanomesh. Simple trnasparent texture on a simple 2d meshplane. Works wonderfully as a nanomesh, no problems there. The problem occurs when i want to convert the nanomesh to mesh. It loses the texture information and all i get is a simple planar mesh without the texture. Can’t seem to figure out if this is normal, in which case it is pretty useless for a lot of things i wanted to use it for.
Is this just not an option or am i missing something?
Does anyone have a solution/tutorial to make this work?

No one knows an answer or is this just not possible in the current version? It seems like a real misser if this is not an option …
