Resolved: Should I install 4.0 Upgrade Ontop of 3.5 ?

Should I install 4.0 Upgrade Ontop of 3.5 ?,(in program files/pixologic 3.5 folder) or should 4.0 upgrade be installed to where it wants to, a seperate folder ? (it wants to be installed inside the program files/pixologic 4.0 folder.

the reason I’m asking of course is because I don’t want to lose my previous tools that I’ve made, and/or projects.

editted to add ; whether I need to install 4.0 to a seperate folder or not, will I need to de-activate my 3.5 license before registering/activating my 4.0 license ?

ZBrush 4 should be installed to its own folder. It will not work right if installed over 3.5. After you have installed it you can copy your tools and non-plugin startup items over. Plugins should be downloaded fresh from the Download Center, since earlier versions of them will not work in 4.

Z4 has a new serial number, so the licensing is unaware of 3.5. You can continue to have both on your computer. Only 4 will be supported anymore, however. If something causes 3.5 to stop working, that will be it for that version.

Hope that helps.

ok, thanks aurick…got it installed and registered,… am heading over to get my plugins, then I’ll go get my ztools.

thanks again :+1:
