I have just installed ZBrush 4 and have immediately run into this problem. Upon starting up ZBrush, it shows an internal error window with the text:
INTERNAL ERROR.\AFile.cpp Line:728
Unable to open/Create a FileC:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\PIXOLOGIC\ZBRUSH 4.0/ZData\ZPlugs/ZProject.dll
It then invites me to either click OK to exit ZBrush or Cancel to continue. If I hit Cancel, it shows a window with this text:
Unable To Save File
C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\PIXOLOGIC\ZBRUSH 4.0/ZData\ZPlugs/ZProject.dll
In a possibly related problem, ZBrush is not remembering that it’s been registered. After hitting OK on the last error message, it brings up the registration window. I went through the paces of registering the program, and it actually said “Registration Successful” or something to that effect. From there, I can use the program normally.
However, when I close ZBrush, these problems return. The two error messages, AND the registration window. It apparently does not save any information regarding my registration, but using the same registration code does not work, saying that the registration failed. I have to actually reapply for a registration code in order to use the program again.
I’ve been using ZBrush for a couple years, and have never come across a problem like this. I recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Could that possibly be to blame?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
