resizing buttons, how ?

i used the bottom shelf as my primary shelf and i attached many buttons to it. the thing is that when i save the gui it will only save it as .cfg and the config file is uneditable, i am not sure how should i access it to change the button’s size according to what was said in one of the threads from ,1, to ,.5, etc.

is there a way to do it from inside zbrush ?

thanks.

Warpy,
The thread you mention was for changing the button width on macros such as those saved by the Brush Manager. You can’t change the width of buttons from the rest of the interface. The Preferences:Interface:Button Size slider will change the over all dimensions of all buttons on the interface so reducing the value in that may help - but the button height will be reduced along with the width. After changing the setting simply restart ZBrush to see the effect.

umm that wont help, i thought about it. it will just make things smaller. what i realy want to do is stack the button like little soldiers, so it all looks organized. i can probably change the macro buttons width etc so that solves some of the problems, but there are other buttons that i cant do that to.

is there a way to transfer the “data/instructions” inside a button to another button ?

thanks marcus

Warpy,

You could try recording macros for the button presses that you want small buttons for. Set the macro recording on, press the button, turn off the recording and save. You can then edit the button width [if necessary - short macro file names will give short buttons] and put the macro button on your UI. Note that for some functions you may get an error if things are not in the correct state - for example, if you record a macro to press the ‘Make Adaptive Skin’ button and then press your macro when you don’t have a zsphere in edit mode you’ll get an error.
