I’m happy to present my work titled “Requiem.”
Working on this sculpture was not easy. Most of the time was spent on the composition. Since I didn’t create specific sketches beforehand, I had to think through the composition and refine it directly in 3D, which made the process even more challenging. The initial foundation that helped me shape the meaning and details came from my previous works.
The main goal in terms of meaning was to achieve a sense of generalization — but without slipping into abstraction. There are many details I reflected on, and I tried to make the sculpture look interesting from different angles, with symbolic weight not concentrated in a single spot. Still, the center of the whole composition — as the most perfect form, or perhaps an allegory of the Earth — is a small sphere held in the hand of a figure, or perhaps shown to us.
The sculpture was created in ZBrush, and rendered in KeyShot.
And of course, throughout the entire process, I listened to many different requiems — especially Mozart and Antonio Salieri – Requiem in C Minor.
I believe these pieces complement the sculpture well and help convey its emotional message more clearly.
I designed the sculpture with the intent that it could be 3D printed or carved directly in stone. Of course, some additional technical adjustments may be needed for a real-world statue.
Overall, this work was a meaningful and valuable experience for me — one that I intend to develop further in future projects.
Thank you!

Congratulation on this. You did achieved a pleasing composition all around. I feel curious when I look from the front. I feel the figure is offering me to take the sphere in my hands and have a look at it. I also quite like the composition of the branch from behind. Very dynamic movement there.
