I installed 4R8 recently and I still have a 4R7 folder in my application directory, should I remove it or 4R8 feeds off it?
I’m wondering the same thing. I’ve deactivated 4r7 and am wary of uninstalling it fully until I know it won’t interfere with 4r8.
I am on windows and have seen some overlap between the two, the worst being the quick save directory from 4R7 which 4R8 decided to empty (@#$%^&^%$%^&!!!).
I will never use Quick save again, I didn’t like it before, but got used to, and even started using it, now I dont trust it at all.
I dont know what else might cross over from older version, its sort of a complicated mess on windows with stuff winding up in a public directory that I would never use, and other stuff like quick save being set up the way it is.
Since ZBrush tries to save in default directories in the Pixologic directories, I would definitely look in there and make sure you haven’t saved anything and dont know it, last time I looked I had several projects that I thought I had lost, but had accidently saved into the default directory. If I had deleted these versions I would have lost that stuff.
