Remesh all in zbrushcore

Hello!

This is going to sound like a really silly question but I’ve looked any where I can think of including the zbrush central FAQ and cannot find the answer. I was watching the zclassroom videos about mannequins https://pixologic.com/zclassroom/lesson/mannequins-part-2 and when they are smoothing out the mannequins and giving them a skin at approximately 1:13 in the video the use a function in the subtools pallet called “remesh all” I am a zbrush core user and cannot seem to find that option in my subtools pallet. Is it in a different spot in zbrush core as opposed to zbrush 4? Or is the feature just nonexistent in zbrush core? Thanks for your help!

There isn’t Remeshing in ZBrushCore but you actually don’t need it for that. All you need to do is:

  1. In the Tool>Adaptive Skin menu check that the Use Classic Skinning option is on.
  2. Press ‘A’ on the keyboard. This will give you a preview of the skinned mannequin (which with Classic Skinning on will closely resemble the zsphere mannequin).
  3. Press Tool>Adaptive Skin>Make Adaptive Skin. This will make a copy of the skinned version of the mannequin and add it to the Tool palette. It will be called something like Skin_Dog.

The skinned version will be a mesh that you can sculpt with all the sculpting brushes, subdivide for more detail and so on.

HTH,

Hey Marcus
