Reed Walker

Hello Friends,

This is the “Reed Walker”, my latest finished image. A hybrid of octopus, rat, whatever…Thanks a lot to Meats, and his latest DVD “Zbrush for Illustration”, which helped me a lot. Especially working with polygroups ! can`t understand that i worked with Zbrush since one year, without knowing about these functions…

titten? lol… great!!! fantastic render.

Thanks,

hehe, yeah, Titten, well…I remembered the Species Creature, and she had so beautiful T… and i liked the combination between “Creepy” and “beautiful”, so my idea was (just the idea) to give him/her some breasts…The Breasts, which came out, are not quite “beautiful”, i have to say, but…

well, just brainstorming, ;.-)
you know…

Thomaskl

Creepy and Cool. I love the final render very much.

Excellent job.

that looks awsome. its creepy as can be, you definatly have to start animating that thing

waoooo wanderfull

Cool Creature :+1:

Brilliant, a fantastic creature and the colours a so bright. :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1: and a truly original creation

Thomaskl, Hi.
Very nice character, interesting and different.
My only critic is that perhaps a z pass for the character.
You have a very shallow depth of field on the composting yet the character is completely in focus.
I would expect to see some of that fading on the character as well.
However minimal.
It’s a very minor thing.
But I think it would help tie him in to you background.
Very nice work though.:+1:
Best of luck.

Great Job!!!
I would change nothing.

Thanks for your words
well, i decided to defocus the background only. At first, i wanted to show him on a presentation table only, but that did not fit to the character. My attempt wasnt to make him perfectly into the environment, because the background is just for filling the image with some additional structure.
You`re certainly right with your critic. There should be some DOF at the creature…But that would make him small on the other hand. Would look like a macro.

Best Regards,
Thomaskl

I would love to see that cat in a swamp

You are the king of all things with slime and tenticles.

Indeed…I do love slimy tentacle stuff…Never had any deeper thoughts why…so, i better won`t think about it

Here is another High-Res Crop

Great creature.
But where is turntable finished version?

Nice work. And I enjoyed watching your little workflow presentation.

Thanks

well, it would be quite difficult for me, to make a turntable of the final version, because there are so many different blended passes in there. If i would render a turntable of the diffuse version only, it would look quite boring…and last but not least, there are so many Displacement Errors inthere…you wouldnt want to see this…

Thanks so far,
