Redshift material update and hiding hdri

been using redshift with zbrush since it released and the latest update turned it to a barely usable mess. is there a way to turn off the laggy and at times program crashing real time material updates, and why am i now unable to hide a hdri map from the render? used to be able to use a map under my light options and just turn it off. that would both reflect the map and provide and empty background

this has been a very frustrating month

oh also now fully transparent glass material casts a shadow as if it was sunglasses. so that’s also a thing
