Rectangular Alpha Image is getting Bevelled at Corners?

Hi,

I have a rectangular PSD file I’m using as an alpha but I’m getting a strange result…

  1. Subdividing a Plane into 6mil polygons
  2. Standard Brush, DragRect, Setting Focal Shift to -100, Setting the PSD as the Alpha.
  3. Dragging the alpha along the plane results in “bevelled” or rounded corners of the alpha.

Not sure why this is occuring, as I have my focal shift set to -100. Any ideas?

Hi @mendler ,

Rectangular alphas are not optimal in ZBrush, especially when vertically oriented. A perfectly square alpha works better in more situations. Creating your alpha as a square should resolve the issue.
