For ZBrush it’s very simple. Here are the software’s minimum and recommended requirements: http://pixologic.com/zbrush/system/
Your system is overkill for ZBrush. It’s a 32-bit application which means that the OS won’t give it more than 4 GB of RAM. For that reason we recommend 6 GB, which leaves 2 for the OS and any background apps. The graphics card also makes no difference at all with ZBrush.
The next thing to do would be to look at the system requirements for Maya. I’m sure they have those published on their site somewhere. Odds are that so long as your system meets what Maya recommends you’ll be more than sufficient for ZBrush as well.
650 watt PS? I’d go larger…maybe a faster hard drive too. Upgraded graphics card here from shipped card, the stock PS wouldn’t handle it, I had to go bigger, just saying.
a solid state drive would be faster and more durable. it’s worth it even if it’s a smaller size. you can always use an external drive for storage. what good is processing power if you can read and write to the drive only so fast?
