Rage Inspired Gun or is it a Vehicle?

I am still trying to figure out best hard surface workflows. So I took the rage stuff…which is obviously done in 3dsmax or maya ( i think ) and went ahead and did it from scratch in zbrush to see if I could get same shapes and how hard. Well…this took about 3 hours:) and was fun as hell. The new hard surface stuff is so hot. Going to teach my students. Basically dynamesh…clip brush…insert…etc. Orb brush for chips.

Here is a link to the original Rage artwork

Neat! I say it’s a cannon that straps to one’s forearm.

update///decided to now do my own thing on the back of it. The new poly extrude is amazing…quick work of the back fencing.

It’s definitely a vehicle! Love the hood ornament.

Ok, I’m wrong. But it should be a vehicle.

Keep it coming!

Who the heck knows what it is? Anywho, this interpretation of it, IS much better than the original, really! The original looks too smooth. This one has ‘character’ (maybe cause of the dents etc). But things look thicker and more cool. Fantastic work nicholasmarks . Loving it!

great work!!

I am digging the hard surface sculpting big time.
looks great and very good copy of the original.
Keep up the good work bro! I also like the brush you work with , great workflow with those et.
