Quicksave - any way to automatically delete oldest quicksave file?

Hi yall. I’ve recently had an issue where Zbrush hasn’t been quicksaving after it’s reached the maximum number of quicksaves without me noticing. My solution was to simply turn up the quicksave maximum and try to remember to empty my quicksave folder before it fills up, but I was wondering if there is a way to automatically delete the oldest quicksave when the maximum number of quicksaves has already been reached?

Thank you!

If it’s only recently started happening then you may be able to fix it by deleting the ZBrushData folder. ZBrush will simply recreate the folder on startup. For Windows this is normally in the Users\Public\Public Documents folder and for Mac OSX it’s in the Users\Shared folder.

You’ll probably want to copy a few files before doing this:

  • any QuickSave files you want to keep in the ZBrushData\QuickSave folder
  • if you have custom hotkeys the StartupHotkeys.txt file in the ZBrushData\ZStartup\Hotkeys folder
  • if you have a custom interface then the CustomUserInterface4R7.cfg file in ZBrushData\ZStartup

If that doesn’t work then it would be possible to create a small plugin that made it easy to delete the oldest QuickSave file but it wouldn’t be automatic, you’d have to press a button to delete the file.
