Quick keyshot question

In the Keyshot tutorial video near the end, it is shown that you can render either UV or polypaint on the models with pretty much the same effect in Keyshot. When new materials are placed on the models, it doesn’t override the polypaint in the video, but when I try it, it completely replaces the polypaint with the keyshot material. I looked for blend or transparency options but must be missing something. Any ideas?

Hold ALT when dragging a material in Keyshot to retain the underlying color texture and change only the surface properties. Some materials types are not compatible with this operation because they don’t support color textures.

If you prefer to drag a material without holding ALT (for instance to see or adjust the material effect without a texture in the way), all you need to do is click the texture thumb in your projects scene tab and browse to your original texture. Or, just drag and drop your texture from its location onto the thumb. Your texture will combine with the material.
If you are working on a character with skin material and your texture, you can get pretty good SSS effect by altering the Keyshot skin surface colour and translucency.
