Questions about a few specific buttons on the Array mesh sub palette?

Hello. I am currently learning about the arraymesh sub palette, and there are a few buttons on that palette that I was a little confused about. They are the “Lock Position” and “Lock Size” buttons. I have read the documentation and have read the small popup window that shows up in the program, and it’s kind of hard for me to understand what they mean. I was hoping someone could help me understand what they mean? Thank you.

Here is what the documentation says about these 2 buttons

Lock Position and Lock Size prevent the position and/or size of the existing Array Mesh instances from being changed.
By default, transformations are applied to the initial model and the instances then move or scale accordingly. By activating these locks, the size and position of the existing instances won’t change.
These locks affect all stages associated with the array.

If the lock size/position is not active, then the array will move/scale as a single object. If unlocked, you will scale/move the root mesh, and the changes will update through the array.

The easiest way to see this in action is to simply load up an array from Lightbox, and see what happens when you use gizmo to move or scale the mesh with it both locked and unlocked.

Thanks man, I think it makes sense after loading in the arrarymesh presets from lightbox. I was overthinking it, it’s as you said, the lock position makes the instances not translate, and the lock size makes the instances not scale or get larger.
