Question - Matchmaker Brush

Is there a way to make Matchmaker Brush work in the mesh without overrunning the reference tool? Something as if there was a collision in the tool. Example: I want to make a shield and add the head of a lion in the center, but the shield is of a complex format. When I use the brush, one side gets correct and other parts still get away from the shield. However, if there was a collision in the tool, the lion’s head would go to the maximum of all parts touching the tool without having to adjust with the move brush afterwards. Is there something equivalent?
