Question for a Moderator - Materials

I’ve seen numerous user-made materials here on the forum, not to mention quite a few I’ve made myself, that I think would be great to share. Is there any chance of a “MaterialPack2”??? I tried to make one myself, but I’m not a ZScript guru. I basically copied Pix’s MaterialPack, renamed it MaterialPack2, and started putting my own materials in it. Unfortunately, it does not want to replace selected materials with the new material like it should. Fortunately, I tested it after only copying 3 materials and creating thumbnails. It would have sucked to spend all that time with all my materials, only to find it did not work.

PS: I would be happy to contribute my materials, along with accompanying thumbnails, as I am sure many other members would as well.

You can always just upload your own materials in a zip.

Users can then put them into their own Zlist which will create thumbnails automatically.

Also you could make you own Material List like Southern’s “flesh pack” but I have found the material list somewhat buggy.

PS the material pack will always return to the default state. That is why there exists the (buggy) material list or the much better Z list which can also contain alphas and textures not to mention tools.

Thelonius,
Are you saying I can store materials as well as textures and tools in the Material List, or is this a different zscript? I thought it would only store materials. Plus, I was kinda hoping Pix or someone would come out with another Material Pack. I like the one that is out there, but there have been so many incredible materials created by users that are extremely different from the 100 in the MPack. I just thought it would be cool.

Hi Slosh!

The MaterialList (click the link) is different from the MaterialPack. This is an empty version of the MaterialPack, ready for users to store their own materials in and share them. A little farther down the thread, there is the FleshPack by Southern, which has a bunch of his super-sweet materials for – well – flesh.

No Slosh you can only store materials in the material list. However there is a newer thing which has superceded the material list it is called the Zlist and is available on the pixologic site and can store Materials, Alphas, Textures and Tools and it makes thumbnails automatically too. It would probably do your ironing also if you knew how to reprogram it.

That is funny thelonious, I guess I need to add the IroningMaster to the ‘To do list’

Aha! This is what I want. Thanks Thelonius. I’m downloading as soon as I finish reading all the new threads tonight.
