Ok, once i downloaded them and extracted to the right folder. I was wondering is there a way to have them appear in my material’s box, with out me loading each and every one? Meaning, is there a way to have them preload into it, so when i go to open my material box, they’ll be there?
You can place a limited number of materials (I think it’s 25) into the ZBrush3\ZStartup\Materials folder. They will then load into your material palette every time you launch ZBrush.
This is meant to let you always have specific materials available that you use constantly. It’s not meant to let you pre-load (and waste system resources on) every material you think you might use someday.
thanks! now i’m having another problem, i posted it, but it’s taking forever. I keep coming up with a error of material not loading and having to be aborted. Does anyone know why?
The particular material may be incompatible with your version of ZBrush.
Interesting, I’ve gotten in the habit of throwing materials I like (since I’m always on the look for nice zmt’s) into the startup materials folder. I just counted in 3.12 and I have 84 preloaded It looks like it will take 95. Had not thought about system resources since they are small files generally. But I also can devote a full 4 gigs of ram just to Zbrush. The only lag i notice is perhaps the first time I open the material pallet it might take an extra second.
