Hi. I have created an armchair and sofa model that requires adding stitches. I started to dig around how to make such threads and it turned out that there is something like IMM Stitches - a huge plus is the fact that the stitching is a separate object because I can add other ID and i can have control on them in 3ds max later.
The curve option works great - but I have so many stitches that you can drive yourself by hand. Hence my question - how to mark the edge (so that it marks around (loop) and then put stitches on it? I would like to add seams on the marked path (edge) - using a brush.
This solution would be good for me because the seams would fit perfectly in the place I prepared earlier in 3ds max.
In the graphic below I present the mesh of my model. The green lines are the seams.
Create a curve where you want the stitches. Do that with Stroke:Curve Functions:Frame Mesh by Border, Polygroups and/or Creases. Looks like your topology is clean so you can easily polygroup polyloops or crease edgeloops with Zmodeler, or even simply hide mesh and crease the border. See Michael Pavlovich - Stitches
