Not really sure what it is myself…
A couple of my friends and I have started work on this project which will involve this creature and tracked footage… :slight_smile: I say no more… but by the end, it should hopefully be cool… And “reelicious”!
Currently it’s in modeling stage, so it’s kinda up to me to get a good model and some good maps to go along with that, to the shader/lighter guy…
This is early stages… I really got stuck into it, this week end… Before it was a slow play around to get to a basic shape and design… I’ve been documenting the process,… sort of,… on my blog : http://slegrand.blogspot.com/
I’ve also been recording VTMs, which I’ll also make available on my blog at the end of the project…

Would love to hear all comments!

It’s a nver ending thing to clean up edgeloops… At one stage or another you have to start UV’ing and get on with it :slight_smile:

Thanks guys… Still loosing a lot of detail when I render it in PRman. Working on fixing that…

Here’s a render with a preliminary texture… I like when I start giving the colour map, it always gives me a second wind of excitement…

Once again, these are far from finished and have been made in Zbrush and photoshop back and forth…

Seems will be taken care of last…

I’ve been tweaking maps and adding detail mostly… I think it’s starting to come together a little more, but I’m still way off where i wana be… :slight_smile: …more work…
Also the shader is a simple blinn. ATM it only has a colour, spec and displacement map. 3 lights.

I’m a huge fan of that movie (I have a special edition
DVD set!), I didn’t realise that it looks that similar to Horus, but now that you mention it… :slight_smile:

Renaissance is a movie also made in France, which seems to be along a similar line to immortel… Looks great!

Here’s another quick update… Just adjusting maps and adding detail. Also gave it a quick rig so I can pose it to make the preview renders not as boring…
