I’m a newbie and I’ve spent many, many hours working on ZBrush in the past few weeks. I’ve learned a lot (enough to give me hope anyway), but the one thing I am having real and consistent trouble with is lighting. Not lightcaps but the straighforward lighting. I’ve looked at the user guides and at tutorials and stuff on the web. Here’s the problems I’m facing.
- I can’t seem to get the spotlight or point light to work. I’ve got a book that shows briefly how to do it (Eric Keller) but mine don’t work. I haven’t really found an explanation of how the light placement actually works (when you drag the P onto something is that where the spot hits). I can’t get the radius to change even after I change the slider.
- How do you clear lights once you’ve put them in. I can’t find a way and have to keep reverting my files to do this.
- Sometimes the light ball just stays white in sun mode and it doesn’t matter where you move the red dot, the light stays in the same position.
I would so appreciate it if someone could point me to a really good explanation of ZBrush lights, or tell me what I am doing wrong. Thank you so much.
