Problems appending sub tool.

Have two problems with appending sub tool. Have looked for answer but can’t find any and I know it will be something very basic I am doing wrong with this very basic part of Zbrush.
The problems are: 1) When I go to append a model with multiple sub tools to another only one of the sub tools of that model appends. 2) When I do append a model to another the scale of the appended model is either very small or very large.

I know I am going to hear the sound of one hand clapping when I get the answers to these problems :o . So if anyone can help I would very much appreciate it. Cheers.

You can only append one subtool at a time as far as I know, so either append the subtools separately, or merge the subtools into a single subtool prior to appending, and split apart afterward. Likewise, you could use the “multi-append” function in the Subtool Master plugin.

If the objects were created completely separately from one another, their size relationship is likely to be arbitrary, requiring you to scale them to fit after appending. If they were originally created together as part of the same tool, or part of the same project in another program, they should import/append with the same size relationship, although it may require some options tweaking in one of both programs to make that happen.

If you’re looking for more consistency in Zbrush subtool creation, and can’t simply create them as a subtool to the target tool in the first place, try creating the objects as subtools to a common root subtool, cloned from one or the other.

Thanks for that info Spyndel , appreciated. Slowly banging the rocks together with this wonderful program. Cheers mate.
