Problem with rigging.

I have tried to rig my zspheres to my base mesh i made using zmodeler, but the bind mesh button is greyed out. I tried select mesh and then select the base mesh i made, but that doesnt work either.

Am i missing a step here?

update: i managed to attach a zspheres rig by turning my model into a polymesh 3d. however it only shows as a preview now, its not actually attached to the real mesh. also the weighting is wrong. does anyone know how i can change that?

I don’t know if this will help, but it’s the basic process:

  • With your tool selected and any subtools you want to transpose visible, hit TPose with ZSphere Rig enabled. (I also have Grps enabled in the tpose menu, which will carry over any poly groups you already have set up to the tpose mesh)
  • Draw out or import your rig.
  • Go to the rigging menu (it shows up in the tool menu now your in rigging) and select bind mesh to make the rig active on your tpose mesh.
  • Pose or do whatever you intended with the rig.
  • Hit TPose|SubT to commit to the pose changes. (I also have layer enabled in the tpose menu at this point, which creates a new layer per subtool for the pose changes)

Weights are a little tricky. You may need to go back and forward a bit adding zspheres to hold shapes and get the effect you’re going for.
