Problem with Reference Images :

I’m having a problem getting the reference image maps to work under the Draw menu. I can load both maps for each axis, but only one of them will show on both sides. For example, if I go into the Draw menu and select Front-Back and choose a different image for each, the only image I see projected is the image selected for the Front map. I see that same Front image whether looking at the model from the front or the back, even if I have a different map selected for the Back.

The problem is the same on each axis, I don’t know if it’s me doing something wrong, or if it’s a bug.
Any help appreciated.

There is a button called ‘One’ to the right of the two images that sets it so that it uses one image for both views, just deselect it

One
This mode uses the left image slot for both sides of the grid. If an image is loaded into the second slot, it won’t be displayed on the grid.

Thanks Richard, that sounds promising but I can’t deselect or select it, it’s greyed-out even with two images loaded.

Save your grid and then try loading the Skull one under the Lightbox>Grids tab. That is set up correctly and works fine for me.

Ah, I just noticed that the Project on Mesh function was on and if I turn it off, indeed, I can get the images to work, but as soon as I want to project onto the mesh, it still behaves as if it has only one map set per axis.

How do I get it to project correcty from each side of each axis?

Sorry Marcus, crossposted, please see my new post.

… even the skull project has the same problem if you use the Project on Mesh feature, it shows the front image from both Front and Back.

So does anyone know, should this be reported as a bug?

I can reproduce this. I’ll pass it on to the developers.

Cheers Marcus!
