Problem with .obj and HairFX in 3ds max

Anybody know what the deal is with .obj’s and hairfx.

Everything works like its supposed to until render time. Where it renders nothing.

I’ve tested .obj’s made with 3ds and they behave the same.

It has to do with the scale of the model. Try scaling your model significantly up.

Zbrush default export settings seems to import extremely small.

Hmm I actually blown up my .obj to surreal proportions and it just doesnt do it…and going microscope doesnt cut it either…anyone knows whats happening?

ive managed to apply hairfx to .obj models in max with varying results of success…
ive not managed to get hairfx to work in accordance with displacements, but can apply it to the base mesh and can use mat id to control hair ranges, but havent gotten a control map (for hairfx) to work with the .obj file.
so…
obj. + hairfx : default scanline = yes
brazil r/s = yes
vray = NO (for some reason i cann not hairfx to work with vray at all)
.obj + disp + hairfx = No luck at all

so yes hairfx with obj is possible…
unsure if a Hairfx control map can be utiliazed with .obj though

Thanks for the input, still trying but think will have to go another way about it.
I think I read somewhere you can only use it with vray if u convert to geometry.
