Problem or bug with zSpheres to adaptive skin

I’m having major problems with zspheres to adaptive skin conversion. I have followed tutorials and tried to create humanoid character from scratch few times but the stomach area always comes out twisted with box like sharp corners. What could be causing this?
Using zbrush 2019.1, and I have tried both the new adaptive skin and the classic skinning. Adjusting skinning values don’t seem to help either… It is like there is a sphere “missing” or “frozen”.

Any tips what I should try? is it a bug or am I missing something.

Hello @Janne4_4

The Zspheres can be rotated or scaled individually, which will affect the way the mesh is drawn, especially in classic mode. Personally, I find the newer mode (not classic) much easier to work with for most situations, but YMMV.

Try scaling the root zsphere a little larger (W for scale mode), or the adjacent zspheres a little smaller, or both. Also try moving them a bit farther from each other, as this should make the transition less drastic.

Also, be sure to grab the upgrade to Zbrush 2020. It’s free for registered users, comes with lots of new features, and older versions aren’t officially supported.
