I am new to zbrush, very new. I am hoping to locate an older version where I can practice with it and learn how to use it. At this point, I am not able to purchase the latest version. Is there a way that I may purchase a less costly, previous version of the software? Is this a possibility? And, I am talking about purchasing the license of that version.
It’s not possible. To date, Pixologic has never charged for an upgrade. That means that any version you received would be automatically eligible for a free upgrade to 4R6. Put another way, no matter which version you purchase you’re actually purchasing 4R6.
You might, however, be able to find a less expensive copy from someone who for whatever reason needs to sell his or her license. Check the Community forum here at ZBC.

I bought a copy from someone years ago (maybe 5) and got it half the full price, and have been enjoying upgrades ever since.
Just make sure you get it from someone here, rather than on E-bay for example.
Sorry for the question may be here it´s not the best place to ask, but, Will Pixologic charge in future for upgrades?
