PREFERENCES:LOCAL TRANSFORMATION?

How does this work. I’ve read the Ctrl help, and there’s nothing in the manual as far as I can find about this option (must not have been in version 1.23?)

From reading it, it sound slike I should be able to add an object, press T, twiddle a vertex, press T again to go to edit mode, press R to rotate and the rotation should happen around the vertex that I twiddled. But that doesn’t work.

How is this supposed to work?

It think it only works when you rotate in Edit Object mode. You press ‘t’, twiddle a vertex, then click-drag outside the object to rotate it, and it’ll rotate around the vertex.

Sounds like the first thing that we need to do, actually, is get you upgraded to the new version.

Please contact me at [email protected] ASAP so that we can get this taken care of before version 1.55’s release.

Thanks!

Ahhhh… Most wise Muvlo. THat is indeed the trick, however not what I was hoping it meant.

I was looking for an easy way to rotate parts of a model around an arb. rotation point without having to reposition it in the itst bitsy little tool window.

Thanks though!

EDIT…

This is actually very useful when zoomed way in editing… Very cool!

What you need to do is turn on Preferences>Local Transform. The model will then rotate around the last edited point instead of the object’s center point.
