Precise sculpting for finer detail?

Hello guys, I was wondering, how would you sculpt those little lines and details, like in this picture? I was thinking maybe alpha brush? But as a beginner I really dont want to use the alphas, its feel like cheating and would do more harm than good for me if I overuse it this early in the learning process.
By the way, are there any brushes that you could use to draw a curved path, you can edit the path, and then press or click to make it extrude or dig in the surface of a meshes? Something like the scribed chisel brush but more precise with finer control?

Hello @Noob_Sculptor,

I don’t know about cheating, but if you’re looking to do that kind of detail by hand with finer control, activate Lazy Mouse for the active brush. You can then go to the Stroke> Lazy Mouse menu and adjust things like the Lazy Radius and Lazy Smooth to produce smoother strokes with very fine control. Activate the Backtrack > Path option, and you can first draw out a path and then sweep the stroke back over it.

You could also use Curve Mode strokes to apply a curve to the mesh and then apply a brush stroke to that curve. However I’m not sure if you may also reject that feature for being too mechanical.

Thank @Spyndel, I have no problem with the brush stroke setting you said, its pretty cool actually! I just dont want to use the alpha because its simply just download the alpha, load it in and press a click. I dont learn anything from just doing that, the one who make those alphas already did it for me.
