Hi. Is there any way to control the positioning of an alpha? Something similar to the way you can use spacebar to move a mask around?
Thanks.
Yes there is.
- While holding down Ctrl, select the DragRect stroke and your alpha.
- While still holding down Ctrl, click and drag on an empty part of the canvas.
- While still holding down Ctrl, also hold down Spacebar to move the alpha and position it where you want then, before letting go of Ctrl and Spacebar, let go of LMB to stamp it.
Edit: This method comes in handy when using alphas in a Shadowbox.
Sorry, I don’t think I’m understanding this. I’m just getting a mask of the alpha.
What is LMB?
(I’m trying to sculpt a scribe line for an iris and pupil with alt/alpha 9, if that clarifies things)
thanks!
LMB= Left Mouse Button.
Sorry, I thought a mask is what you wanted. If your going to sculpt using a movable alpha, you have to use either Stencil or Spotlight.
Edit: I forgot to mention that you can also use Projection Master.
Sorry I couldn’t help you any better!
Thanks, that’s ok!—Seems strange that there isn’t a way to do it. I’ll put in my request for it in Zbrush 5.
Maybe I’ll post a general question about how people etch pupils on eyes. There must be something I haven’t thought of…
…actually, it DOES work! I can invert the mask and deflate to get a scribe line. Thanks!
