posing problems-need help

hi to all professionel ZBrushers,
i’m working on a new model right now, it’s not finished yet, but i tried to pose it.
For to do that, first i read the tutorial " pose 2 pose " from aurick and then i dit it step by step how he explained. I make STORE/MT and used the “cage” button.
But, all this dosent works without a lot of distortion on the mesh.:frowning:
So, what i’m doing wrong:qu:
Is there anybody who can help me:qu:

thanks for all supporting

I get the same thing happening to most of my models. Not sure why it happens.

Im not sure how posing works in zbrush, but it seems as if you’re posing once it’s at a poly count, try going to a lower sub-d before you pose, again, i’m not too familiar with posing in zbrush.

many thanks for your answer Kraken.
But that makes me not realy happy:mad: . So, how du you repair this demages? I mean, i’ts not so easy without symmetri.
I don’t like to waite for ZBrush 2.5. Do you know when that update is ready.

The problem is that your ZSphere model wasn’t really designed very well for that particular motion. If you had a couple more ZSpheres in the neck, you’d get much better results.

Pose-to-Pose is not free from the mesh breakage or crumpling problems that occur with other programs. If you try to bend an arm, for example, you need proper edge flow or you’ll get crumpling. In ZBrush, you create that edge flow with additional ZSpheres. Generally, you want a ZSphere where the bend will take place, and another on either side of that bend to either restrict the bend or help guide it in a smoother fashion.

Unfortunately, it’s too late to try and resolve that with this mesh.

2.5 will allow you to repose a figure like this more efficiently through the Volume Rig options that were previewed at last year’s SIGGRAPH. Until 2.5 comes out, though, it’s going to be necessary to learn the best techniques to build a ZSphere figure with posing in mind.

hi aurik

First I like to say thank you for the helpful comments. I really appreciate this special gesture of you.

For the past twenty years I am making illustrations (artwork) with airbrush, and to me it is sometimes fustrating not to be able to create same effects using Zbrush. Since the time I have this programm, I’ve spent all my “life” trying to figure out all of its possibilities, although I had no experience with any other 3d-applications previously.

Just one question - are you working for Pixologic? If so, please tell me when we can expect 2.5 of Zbrush? I am really anxious to get the update.

I know now where I have made a mistake and will start all over again (Urrgh!!) with my model. Hopefully it will work this time.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon again…

So long,
