Posing destroys all of my character's butts :(

Without trying to be crude, is there a way to pose a model without the butt getting destroyed?
Im trying to pose a female model with her right leg up high (like her right leg is bent and resting on a stool, supporting most of the weight) while the other leg is behind her. But the right butt cheek gets destroyed.
Ive tried rigging and regular posing, pretty much the same result.
A picture is worth a thousand words so

Ive been watching videos to try and see if theres a better way, but so far no luck. Any helps greatly appreciatedrig3.jpg

The only thing I can think of is the ‘spur’ line of zspheres on the buttocks.

It looks to me you may have a better deformation if they are rooted from the first zsphere coming off the main trunk, rather than the second. I believe the second zsphere may be driving more vertex transformations, so planting the butt spur on the first zsphere may reduce the deformation.

The only other thing I can recommend is doing it the hard way: mask and transpose.

Okay, I can give that a shot. Ive been working with zbrush this year, and transposing w/masks is how Ive done everything.
But with this issue, I keep getting the same results, unless Im missing something. It seems like no matter how I mask it, the
rear end gets deformed too much.

+1 for masking and transpose

im not sure if you know this but try getting your model as low res as you can when you mask and transpose for better reslts.

It would help more if we could see the wires, at a low subdivision. Also, I would be inclined to transpose at the lowest subdivision.

Adding to or adjusting your ZSphere Armature (rig) could help as well. Agreed about being at a lower subdivision.

On all accounts you guys fixed it, it really was a matter of going down to the lowest subdivision level. Im not really sure why the tutorial I followed had me use the highest, once it was down to 1 the rig worked well and I was able to quickly get a usable…butt.

Thanks guys. The same model has a new problem for me, now that its almost finished…if you can help out over there its greatly appreciated as well.
