Poser, Mesh extraction, daydreaming?

Ok, I don’t want anyone to sit down and do my work for me.
I will all that is required.
No slacker I.
But need to know if something is possible before I commit many hours
to learning how.
Hopefully everyone is familiar with the mesh extraction tutorial and
description.
Male figure stand there in Da Vinci pose, Zbrush come by. Puff ,new suit
of armor.
I look at the tutorial and see a means of making poser clothing.
Have I been out in the sun too long or is this a real possibility?
Considering the name Poser, in certain quarters, is the same as
mentioning typhoid, I understand the reluctance of people that know
about the subject to respond.
Thanks in advance, you brave souls

I should have thought that mesh extraction will work very well for creating Poser clothing - especially of the close-fit sort. A certain amount of extra work will be needed for less-conforming shapes but subtools make it very easy to adjust the fit of clothing. I can’t see that there will be any real differences between creating Poser clothes and what I did with the Pulcinella in this thread.

HTH,

Many thanks Mr. Civis.

  1. All you snarky guys are the same.

  2. Didn’t know that Pulcinella was a hooker.

  3. Follow up question. Have taken a Poser model into zbrush
    and did the mesh extraction.

Should have phrased my question differently.
I am trying to take that which I extract and bring it
into Poser, independent of the model and attach it there.

Poser? I don’t know anything about that, I’m afraid.

Thank you for trying, appreciate it.

Owe you.

Yes it will work. The only thing you have to explore is how to rig the cloth in Poser with those sliders which enable you to deform it (open/close jacket). But I think those are all morphs which are relatively easy to define. Cloth in Poser is only a mesh as well. Simply go and check out the cloth room in Poser.
Share the experiments!

I haven’t tried it yet, bicc, but I am certainly going to. As a Poser clothing designer myself, I was very excited about the mesh extraction function. The cool thing is that the extractions have the same mesh setup as the original model, so setting them up in Poser should allow them to bend and move just like the original figure. The only thing might be that the groups may not match when assigning bones. There is a great program called Autogroup Editor that will help to assign the groups for rigging in Poser. Google it, or check Renderosity marketplace.

If you plan to sell your clothing, you are out of luck. The new extractions will infringe on the copyright of the original models. Of course, we now have retopology, so who knows?

Found a hint at how it might work.
Subtool has extract then delete, you are left with
what you extracted, export that and scale and fiddle.

I am actually sorry for the question, making mistake a lot
of users do. Ask questions before I read and try the material.

I am impatient, also a bit selfish. When I do this, it is in effect, asking
others to do the work for me.
Nice work if you can get it.
Sorry.

slacker

Not a problem Bicc39. We know ya  !
But I catch myself doing that.
Any case, if you find the IExtrude button somewhere… then let me know where it is. It seems to have vanished together with the I and O group buttons. And in it’s place is a slider which is missing it’s corrsponding button… Did I run into the construction site without my parents???
Lemo

To find the iextrude button…
Save your ztool
Close Zbrush 3
Open Zbrush 2
Load your ztool
Have your way with it
Save your ztool (at level one of course)
Close Zbrush 2
Open Zbrush 3
Load your ztool

violia!

(Note, there may be a faster way  )

LOL !!!
I read it twice till I realized that you pulled both of old Lemo’s legs…
Ha, Lemo

you pulled both of old Lemo’s legs.

And made a wish at the same time.
