Polypainting to texture problem!

Hey,

I searched about it and every tutorial at the step I’m having problems right now says: Go to Tool: Texture: Txr>Color

the problem is: I’m using Zbrush 4 and seems that this pallete doesn’t exist, so, how can I turn my polypaint (UV’s are there) into a texture?! :S

Thanks

Tool > Texture Map > New From Polypaint.

It doesn’t work  I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, my the texture stays white! :~

NVM I misread this thread. You wont be able to convert it if your UV’s are all messed-up. The palette should be under tool. Make sure you have a 3d object selected and not a zsphere.

Yeah! I used UV Master, created the UV and yes, I’m using Zbrush 4 :frowning:

under the tool menu, you have no “polypaint” sub menu under the “morph target” submenu?

Yes, I have o.o

tool.texture.new from polypaint.

make sure RGB is on and at 100.

Posting an image always helps as well.

If you clicked ‘New From Polypaint’ and the resulting texture is just white, then you don’t have any polypainting on that particular Tool.

RGB doesn’t have to be on when you click 'New From Polypaint.

sounds to me like you had a texture on, which displayed on your model. Then you hit new from polypaint and since there was no polypainting your new texture is white. This is a guess, but I bet if you turn your texture off, your model is white, disregarding any materials you have on the model. Materials dont transfer to textures unless you paint them directly in projection master.

Try this
select your model. Go under TOOL-TEXTURE- and turn off any textures.

then - Select your model. Select a color in the color palette. The make sure RGB is turned ON. Then hit COLOR-FILL OBJECT. Your object should turn colors.

Then TOOL-TEXTURE-NEW FROM POLYPAINT

and you should have a texture that is that color and has filled all the UV space.

The other thing is that sometimes objects can corrupt. Sometimes objects simply wont fill. What sometimes fixes this is cloneing, saveing, and multi-appending with subtool master.

If your tool doesnt work. Then you should try all your steps with an unwrapped polysphere and see if they work. If they do, it is your object. if they dont, then I dont know what to tell you.

ALSO- If you have LAYERS turned on, they can mess stuff up.

And guinea pigs, they can mess up the polypainting experience as well.

Yes, I am aware this helps no one, but I don’t want to work right now and I already went through reddit.

Seriously though. A picture says a thousand words.

Yeah, a picture will help a lot…

Look what I have here

Go to Tool > Texture Map submenu and click ‘Clone Txtr’. Then you can go to ‘Texture’ menu and export it.

Your tool is either corrupt, or you have no UV’s. I blame the guinea pigs.

Woah, I tried that at school and didn’t work O_O
Hahahaha, worked now! Thanks man!

No problem  Remember to do the same for Normal Map and Displacement Map when you want to export those. (Clone Txtr)

Solved: Incase anyone else has this problem, I had Geo hidden, press Shift + Ctrl in a blank area.
I was using V2021, I had to make all part visible like eye lashes, then in my case hide the eye lashes because it would have created overlapped UVs, then hit create from Polypaint.
