Hello,
New to ZBrush polypaint, I see some amazing work done with it.
I would like to use Polypaint but my problem is that when I use the standard brush with color spray and Alpha 07 (USING A MOUSE) I get huge and too obvious dots (see image, on the forehead).
I see a lot of tutorials where the subtile painting is done.
I’m definitely doing something wrong, but is it the use of the mouse? do I have to use a wacom with a pen?
Is it possible to paint with a mouse (without tablet)? if yes do I need to change any settings for the mouse sensitivity?
Thank you
Lower your rgb
You can either lower the RGB intensity, you can make your own alpha with smaller dot, orreduce the size of your brush(but you will have to cover more surface)
It is possible to use your mouse, but you are basically trying to solve a puzzle with a hammer. Any tablet would be easier (even though it take a bit of time to be use to it)
So if I get it right:
- the normal way for doing it would be by tablet.
- For those stuck with only a mouse, they have a kind of work around (reduce rgb, tweak alpha and/or reduce size of brush). So with mouse is doable but it’s not how it’s intended to be done. Right?
It is doable with a mouse, you just need to keep the RGB intensity down. Of course a tablet pen is so much easier as you have pressure sensitivity which allows pressure and the ability to taper the polypaint. If you do a lot of polypainting, a cheap tablet is well worth the investment.
