polypaint layer hue shift

Hey guys, hope someone can help. I was wondering if there was a way to hue shift or otherwise alter the colour of a polypaint layer without having to repaint it. I know you can use the render adjustments for a final rendered image but Im hoping to export the polypaint to a texture map.

ok here is what im hoping to do… I have a client what wants a character modeled with a heap of hair styles and colours. I have made the styles and have painted the base colour, highlights, shadows, ect on different layers. What i want to do is just change the colour of each layer to make different colour hair styles. I know I can export each layer to photoshop and comp them but was hoping for a zbrush approach. Ive needed something like this in the past for changing the hue on creatures and characters ive made as well.

while im here is there a way to paint a proper spec map like what you can do in mudbox?

I sometimes find zbrush polypainting tools very limiting seeing they are moving more and more into making zbrush a one stop shop without the need for any other program.

thanks for the help!

Hey,

I don’t know if this is the most effective way to do it but why not just select the colour you desire to tint your model and just “fill object” with this colour at a low rgb value and repeat until you get the effect you like.

Hope it helps!

EDIT: Of course you may lose painted detail if you use this method. Perhaps you can do something more effective with Projection Master?

hey cheers Trist. yeah I did try that but it was just overwriting the colours below. I might check out projection master
