Polygon lasso ( masking / selection / clipping )

did we get a polygon lasso option ( masking / selection / clipping ) in the 2020 update ? can’t seem to find it referenced anywhere

take a look at how well 3DCoat has it working if you want to see the power of it in action. a MUST HAVE feature to take hardSurface sculpting in zb to the next level

The masking , selection, and trim lassos are all separate brushes. Hold down shift+ctrl while accessing the brush menu to bring up the list that contains the Selection and Trim lassos, and hold down Ctrl to bring up the list of masking brushes.

yep. i was meaning the polygon ’ shape ’ for each function respectively. we have the freeForm lasso. but not ( that i can find ) a polygonal option

same as you’d have in PS

Hi @tacit_math

Nice one.
If I may hijack your very cool suggestion, here’s how I’d approach it:
Instead of having a separate selection/masking mode you could just switch to polygonal mode by clicking a modifier key. This way you could switch back and forth from lasso to polygonal during one masking/selection stroke.
It would work in a similar fashion to the Alt tapping or double tapping in MaskCurve mode.

Anyway it would be great to see this in ZBrush however it’s implemented.

cheers
