well, to avoid threads at the zbrush-forum getting infected too mucho with political and/or ethic discussions/thoughts/bad feelings i thought i’d adopt Stonecutter’s brilliant idea (see post #8) to open a thread like this. in case anything upsets you over there, just get into here, refer to the thread that upset you, use quotes and the like… but lets leave them art-threads alone with our probably different views of politics, history, believes and the like. stay calm and un-nasty, though, z-friends, but no need to be p.c., ok? :smiley:

Your communication skills, your motives, and the clarity of your reasoning are all equally appropriate, Hansl, and thank you…
I think this is a great idea…We all come from different backgrounds, have different political modalities, and cultural experiences. Now, we have a place to nurture those differences into commonalities, based on mutual respect, without detracting from the reason for the other forum - Artistic Exploration.

Yes a good idea Hans.

I shall be the first to use it as well.

I have removed the political cartoon from my thread, after a number of polite requests asking me if I would. Tis done.

At the same time I shall be removing myself from this board. The cartoon is an old one…meaningless now, as I am. It wasn’t placed here to upset.

There are many people in this world, yet it would appear we are always governed by the lowest common denominators. Everybody strives for freedom to express themselves…they fight for freedom of speech…yet they attack those same freedoms. Again the lower intellectual echelon win. If one cannot provoke thought, hear reasonable cognitive conversation all is lost. I despair mankind…we are the biggest collection of fools gathered anywhere.
I shall not return, the ‘so-called’ thinking of some people here is completely alien to me, and I no longer wish their company. And no, those people haven’t won, in fact they have lost, because they have eroded some of their own freedom. I shall also add a cheap retort…geeze I can paint as well!

And to Zbrushcentral I thankyou for your tolerance, understanding, patience, and help.

For the messages either personal, or within the thread by the thinking people again I thankyou.

Sorry to hear you’re leaving Ed…Yes, you can paint! I’ve enjoyed your work, and your commentary.
Unfortunately, I have to disagree with you. I think the enemies you perceive, whether real, or imaginary, DO win if your response is to leave. I don’t agree with every posting, every art style, every anything, but in the interest of experiential growth, I remain, observe, analyse, accept, reject…All human options of a free mind…

To leave, seems a less satisfactory option, execised at the expense of potential growth.

Your decision, Brother…I for one will miss you, and for the sake of at least one who is interested in your fascinating perceptual dips and dives, I hope you can find it within you to reconsider.

I have only been here a short timeand really hate to see you go. I cannot phrase myself as elequantly as the other posts but I have the same sentiments as the others here on this thread…but I understand and respect your wishes and rights to do what you feel is best…but in my redneck terminology, if you decide to take a cooling down period, you know you and your works will be most welcomed by the majority. I have always found debating as a healthy release of opinions and emotions. Infinite diversity infinite combinations…take care and hope you will reconsider your position about leaving the forum…

First of All if them Pic were as Bad as Some people Clame it to be the staff here would of removed it them self.
second of all any messages asking you politey to Re move them by other people they should of took concideration on how YOU felt about them not There Selfs as i said before the staff would of removed them there self if they was that bad.
i woulnd"t walk away and leave if i was you.
turning your back and walking away is just not right.
but all in all this was a great weekend its was a great debate about cartoons so stick around and see whats nexts :+1: .
this reminds me of a old post were the debate broke out about a PIC of a chain around this (women) neck.
a few people had a few things to say and 2 weeks later a well respected member and posted a pic of a chain on a (MAN) not a word was said to that thread it just goes to show you how some Mind’s Think…

thats the way its getting and if you Dont stand up for your right and you will be the weakest Link like in a Chain.
and as you may know it a chain only breaks at the weakest Link

I am with the others Ed, and I say stick around. You have shown with your recent thread that you have much to offer the forum. Inevitably there will always be some that get seriously uptight at somebody expressing an opinion different to their own. My attitude is, that as long as those individuals don’t resort to violence to express their views, then I don’t have a problem with them disagreeing with my views.

Ed, I can only repeat the others: Stay!

Even if some find your cartoons offencive, I think everyone here respects your general ZBrush art. You have explored Zpainting for very unique results. I, and many others, have read your information posts and watched your ZScripts to our great benefit.

You are a great addition to this forum. I would hate to see you leave.

Ed my Z Friend, as probably the oldest member of this group I think I have the milage under my belt to say that I do not agree with your decision. Art is art, and whoever see’S it as anything different is missing the point. I always looked forward to your images which appeared at such a rate that I often wondered if they were being mass produced be a robot. I however, respect your decision. I am certain that I speak for the majority of the group when I say we hope you will change your mind. Loosing you is like the loss of a family member, please reconsider. Should you decide not to reconsider I hope that the frienship we have developed over the miles will continue. I must thank ZBrush and this forum for giving me the opportunity to have met you and your wonderful art.
All the very best in the future my friend. MAY RIGHT PREVAIL.
