hi, Washington and Pilou
i finally found a few minutes to doodle with cameyos fantastico script… here is a recorded session to achieve what pilou shows above:
recorded polar array session
what i did was the following:
selected arrow tool in tools palette
loaded z-place script
pressed the button below tagged “array” (a few new buttons show up)
looked up “polar array”
deselected “point away”
number of objects: 12
radius: 120
pressed “paint array”
plop-plop-plop, the arrows show up, each one markered
selected multimarker-tool, in its palette i pressed make polymesh
either with script (“remove all markers”) or via the markers palette “delete all” i cleaned the canvas of markers and drew the new polymesh-tool, and placed a marker
i selected the sphere3d-tool
drew a sphere over the marker, went into edit-mode, opened deformations, size and made it smaller until it fit between the arrows tops. i hit “t” again, then “w” (gyro shows up) and dragged the sphere aside (because its marker would claim the same space as the one of the arrowy polymesh, which will cause conflict when multimarkering)
i selected multimarker again, both the arrows and the sphere beside it show up
i move the cursor over sphere, a red rectangle shows up, holding the mouse button down i drag the sphere into the arrows circle, press make polymesh - voila!
sounds terrible, but is very easy, in fact!
hope this helps!!!
mille gracie, cameyo, for this fantastico script, and to Pilou for insisting that i give it a try
