Please tell me about Poser!!

Hi Zfriends!
First time in a while.

I know there are many Poser user at here.
Please tell me about Poser specification.

I’m thinking of buying the software.
I’d like to use Poser model in other 3D CAD system.
And I need to rotate each joint in the CAD system.
(So the system cannot animate seamless unified skin.)

So I just want to know Poser can export the model separated all articular points.

If anyone can, please send a sample model exported by obj.
It would be quite appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hey kaz-g,
First off you don’t need to buy poser to get the models. Check out www.daz3d.com or turbosquid, etc. Poser’s figures must be made up of grouped body parts. It would be helpful to know what 3D CAD program you want to use the figures with and the final result you wish to achieve  .

Thank you for your reply, sirquadalot.

I just want a figure that can be change their pose on autodesk Inventor.
My company deal with autodesk products and often were asked about it.

So we want to provide the human model to our customers.

If Poser cannot, probably I’ll make figure parts by using ZBrush.

Thanks.

Poser figures would need to be posed within Poser. The figure is just a grouped OBJ. All of the posing smooth deformation “magic” happens within Poser.

I don’t think it’s what you’re looking for.

I don’t know of a product that works in the way you need it too.

Hi Furious George,
Thank you for your infomation.

It is a pity.
But I could avoid to waste our money!

Thanks!

hey kaz-g,
I am not familiar with Inventor. If it is strictly a CAD program, and it has no character animation functions, then it starts to get complicated. Before I go into any more about this matter, one item is important. Do you want to create only a single frame image, or due you want to create an animation. If you want to create only a single frame image with a figure, then you can either import the object, such as a car, into Poser and pose the figure inside the car. Then simply export the figure in it’s set pose and reposition the figure inside the car in Inventor (he should keep whatever pose you put him in. Ask me to clarify if something doesn’t make sense.
